November 16, 2017 - ICF/IID and CRF/DD Cost Report and Instructions Update.  The ICF/IID and CRF/DD cost report forms and instructions have been updated and posted to the website under the Long-Term Care_CRF/DD ICF/IID_Forms folder.  These forms should be utilized for all RED's beginning 1/1/18.

Effective March 1, 2017 Myers and Stauffer LC has changed the process related to releasing information. Acknowledgment Letters and Extension Approval letters will continue to be sent to the paid preparer even if a Third Party Disclosure is not on file with our office. All other correspondence will continue to be sent to the provider; however, a copy will only be shared with the paid preparer if a Third Party Disclosure is on file with our office.

Effective January 1, 2018 ALL CORRESPONDENCE (acknowledgments, extension approvals, requests for information, etc.) will be sent to the provider and a copy will only be sent to the paid preparer if a Third Party Disclosure is on file with our office.

Rate letters and the associated cost profiles will only be available to paid preparers if the provider has signed up for the web portal and granted access to the paid preparer. Consistent with current procedures, paper copies of rate letters and associated cost profiles will not be provided to individuals other than the provider even if a Third Party Disclosure is on file with our office. Individuals other than the provider should obtain a copy from the provider.

February 3, 2017 - HPE Transition from IndianaAIM to CoreMMIS ~ Impact on Medicaid Rates
The establishment of Medicaid reimbursement rates and recalculations will be impacted by the transition from IndianaAIM to CoreMMIS. Medicaid reimbursement rates will be released through February 7, 2017. There will not be any release of rates during the period of February 7, 2017 through February 13, 2017. Release of rates will start again on February 14, 2017.

January 23,2017 - Third Party Disclosure Authorization. In order for Myers and Stauffer LC to release financial and other sensitive information to third parties (including cost report preparers), the attached form must be filled out and sent to Myers and Stauffer LC. January 4, 2017- Nursing Facility Updated Cost Report and Instructions. In order to correctly calculate UPL payments based on Medicaid fee-for-service patient days, Schedule I of the cost report has been updated and should be used for nursing facilities with RED's beginning 7/1/16 . December 20, 2016 - New web portal for long-term care cost reports and compliance reviews.  In the next few months, Myers and Stauffer LC will implement a new secure web portal that allows providers and cost report preparers to submit information electronically.  Click on the links below to view the completed announcement and related forms.

October 26, 2015 - HPE Transition from IndianaAIM to CoreMMIS ~ Impact on Medicaid Rates.
The establishment of Medicaid reimbursement rates and recalculations will be impacted by the transition from IndianaAIM to CoreMMIS. Medicaid reimbursement rates will be released through November 29, 2016. There will not be any release of rates during the period of November 30, 2016 through December 5, 2016. Release of rates will start again on December 6, 2016. Additionally, any retro-rate adjustment processing will be on hold starting on October 24, 2016 and continue through December 26, 2016.

Miller Trust:
The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) has transitioned to a 1634 State for Medicaid eligibility. This is to provide additional guidance regarding Medicaid Reimbursement for court-appointed guardian, financial institutions, or Third Party Trust (Miller Trust) Costs for nursing facility, ICF/IID, and CRF/DD residents, the Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning (OMPP) provides the following policy clarification.

Legal and Administrative fees incurred to set up and maintain a Third Party Trust or fees for a court-appointed guardian/financial institution are allowable costs, and should be reported on a provider's Medicaid Financial Report on line 407, to the extent these costs were not covered by the resident's personal funds.
